1933 Sunbeam Model 14 250cc
Priced at £7,850. First registered on the 31st of May 1933 by the Wiltshire County Council, this beautiful example is from the first year of production for this particular model. The model 14 was introduced by Sunbeam to be able to be eligible for the then new 30 shillings tax, introduced to help relieve the financial burdens brought about by the depression. This 250cc was a 'miniture' version of the famous Sumbeam Model 90 350cc machine & was produced to the same high quality. We purchased this fine aristocratic motorcycle from the last Cambridge owner, who gave us the following information on the Sunbeam: -
Before my ownership it was completely restored in the mid 80’s. I purchased it in December 2014 from Venture Classics. In Sept 2016 I had Bill Graver at West Norfolk Motorcycles do some work on it including a new kick start shaft, tube and spring, electronic regulator and new fuel tap. In my ownership it has done approx. 150 miles total with the longest single run being from Cambridge to Finchingfield and return (for a Marston Sunbeam Club meet). I have always stored it in a dry, heated building and it has never got wet during those 150 odd miles. Unfortunately due to a serious back injury, not caused on the bike, I have been unable to take it out or kickstart it for the last 2 years and it’s time to let go.
History comes in the form of a buff logbook. There is also a set of photographs from when the mahcine was restored a few decades ago. Comes with the latest DVLA V5C registration document, is registered for free road tax under the 'Historic Vehicle' class & is MOT exempt.
