1940 Rudge Autocycle 98cc
Priced at £2,000. This machine is one of a number of 'shed discoveries' that have come from a gentleman in Surrey who filled a number of large sheds with classic bikes & has now decided to cut back. This particular example of the Autocycle genre is from the Rudge stable & was considered to be a well made machine in its day. Powered by the Villiers Junior DeLuxe engine, recently introduced as a replacement for the earlier Villiers Junior engine. The old buff cardboard logbook shows that the bike was originally registered in London of the 5th of October 1940, with the first owner proably being a person carrying out 'essential war work', required at this time to qualify to be able to purchase such a machine! Comes with a V5 registration document, is eligible for free road tax under the 'historic Vehicle' class & is MOT exempt.
